Barrington Broncos host American Hearing Impaired Hockey Team

Current and alumni Barrington Broncos players teamed up to play against the American Hearing Impaired Hockey Association (AHIHA) Varsity team on Friday, June 16th.  Barrington players included Anthony Pitti, Max Scodius, Alex Minnow, Jack Adams, Max Adams, Daniel Parisi, CJ Parisi, Ben Mazurek and Ryan Jackson.  Alumni included Kyle Krueger, Max Kunzmann, Gary Barbera, Nicholas Morch, Matt Spica, Geno Melone, and Anthony Iacullo. The teams played a spirited game with Barrington prevailing with a 7-6 victory over the AHIHA team after referees waived off an AHIHA goal.

Established in 1973, the American Hearing Impaired Hockey Association instills confidence and self-esteem in deaf and hard of hearingwhile building life skills through the game of hockey. Each summer AHIHA holds a week-long camp open to hearing impaired hockey players and those wishing to learn the game. This year's AHIHA Varsity team included 6 players from the World Deaf Ice Hockey Championship team as well as college and high school players from across the United States.
